Prior to joining InspiriTec, I was self-employed as a Travel Agent. I also have held temporary positions in customer service. I have really had a hard time finding permanent employment due to my vision impairment. Most employers saw me as a risk factor.
When I read about InspiriTec's opportunities I felt that this could be a perfect match for me. This company truly supports people with disabilities and makes us feel that even with a disability we can still achieve the same goals as others. To work successfully and productively in a regular environment and to be self sufficient is my goal. In my current position I assist the public by resolving conflicting issues concerning changes to their Medicare and Medicaid benefits. I help customers by providing information on issues for the use of vouchers to obtain their prescription drugs.
My employment has been very rewarding. It has taught me to be empathetic towards the issues and emotions of those who have needs. I have learned that you cannot help yourself until you have helped someone else. I have always dedicated myself to whatever I have done. I really like working here because we're like an extended family and that's rare. InspiriTec has improved my life. They have given me patience, endurance, and understanding. I hope to be with InspiriTec for a long time to come.
