Before coming to InspiriTec I worked on the Job Development Team at a company called Community Integrated Services. My role there was to help find employment for people with disabilities. But after I was laid off in 2014 I found difficulty finding another job due to my own disability, a condition I was diagnosed with at age 16 called Friedrich’s ataxia, which causes my nerves and muscles to deteriorate over time. Eventually I found work at InspiriTec as a Customer Service Representative and have since been promoted to Tier 1 Help Desk Agent. I love helping people, so having a job with “help” right there in the name means a lot to me. One of the hardest parts about my condition is getting to and from the office, but the people at InspiriTec understand this obstacle. And when I get here every day I feel like I’ve just joined my second family. When I look around the office, everyone is an inspiration to me. We all face challenges, including myself, but when I see others overcoming their challenges every day in the office, it makes me want to work harder.
